Last month Paul Fliss gave a very detailed talk on pruning, demonstrated various pruning tools, and answered lots of questions. If you took one of his branches to force bloom, you probably have a beautiful flowering branch at home by now.
Our March 23 meeting will feature beekeeper Andy Hemken who will discuss “Bees.” He teaches beekeeping and mentors those who are just getting into this hobby. Plan to attend this informative presentation at 7:00 p.m. in the Library Community Room and learn about the importance of bees in the garden.
Just a reminder that there has been a date change to the April meeting due to scheduling at the library. We will meet on April 29 instead of April 21. This meeting will entail a hands-on garden art project. Since it will take more than one day for the glue to properly set, plan to pick up your completed project on Friday afternoon May 1 between 3:00 and 5:00 (or have someone pick it up for you). If you haven’t signed up for this project and want to participate, contact Kim Harmon at 617-8167. There is a nominal fee and you will need to bring your own glassware.
There are two dates to remember in May: The Plant Exchange on May 18 and a meeting on May 26 on butterflies. Please mark your calendar accordingly.
Enjoy this beautiful weather!
